Recent Projects

Classic Yacht Restoration was founded in September 2001 in Stamford Ct, and relocated to Stonington Ct in May of 2003.

Recent projects include:

“Aucoot”, a 23′ Prudence sloop designed by L. Francis Herreshoff. Replace 16 bottom planks, 80% frames, deck and trim, deck beams, cabin top and trim, mast step, rudder, floor timbers. Design and make new: cabin doors, cockpit sole and cockpit seats, pilot berths, hanging lockers, and counter tops. Re-caulk and refasten bottom. Refinish with paint and varnish interior and exterior of hull.


 

Chris Craft “Barrelback”, a 19′ open runabout from the early ’50′s. Strip hull and deck; stain and varnish. Provide engraver pieces as required. Reef and caulk deck and hatch seams.


 

“Gull”, a Fishers Island OD by Charles D. Mower. Install new plywood and canvas deck; design and fabricate mahogany cockpit sole; laminate new cockpit coaming; parcel and serve spliced eyes in standing rigging; replace running rigging; replace spreaders; strip and varnish spars. Laminate new tiller.


 

“Ruffian”, a 21′ Boothbay Harbor One Design by Geerd Hendel. Build new spars; caulk bottom; install new plywood and canvas deck; remove and re-bed ballast, keel, and keel bolts; replace coamings and splash rail; design and install chainplate tie-in with maststep. Install new deck hardware. Laminate new tiller.


 

“Rosa”, O’Day 27 sloop. Replace electrical and plumbing systems. Replace fuel tank and fuel lines. Replace portlights. Laminate new tiller.

“Last Ride”, a Dusky 233 Center Console. Laminate new oak and mahogany tow bit; fabricate and install new console seat.

8′ Dyer Dink. Remove, re-bed, and re-fasten daggerboard trunk. Refinish brightwork.

17′ Boston Whaler Montauk. Install new console; design and fabricate console seat; design and fabricate removable back seat; design and mount antenna arch/grab rail.
